Pune: The district administration will hold a special camp on June 22 at the Saswad sub-divisional office to resolve pending revenue-related and quasi-judicial issues delaying compensation to farmers affected by the proposed Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje International Airport in Purandar.Officials from the revenue department, land records office, sub-divisional office, tehsil office and other agencies concerned would be present at the camp, enabling farmers to resolve multiple issues under one roof. Project-affected farmers have been told to attend the camp with all relevant documents, including 7/12 extracts, Form 8A, Aadhaar and PAN cards, inheritance records, mutation applications, relinquishment deeds and court-related papers.District collector Jitendra Dudi said he would personally review the pending cases during the camp to expedite compensation payments. “Many of these are revenue and documentation-related matters. Once resolved, compensation can be released immediately. If disputes go to court, payments may remain pending for a long period. Farmers should make use of this special camp and present their grievances before the administration. All issues will be addressed in the camp,’’ Dudi said.As many as 1,285 hectares (nearly 3000 acres) of land has to be acquired for the airport project from seven villages of Purandar taluka in Pune district. Officials said around 75% of the affected farmers had submitted affidavits required for compensation. Nearly Rs1,000-crore compensation has been disbursed so far.According to the administration, compensation in several cases are pending because of inheritance and mutation disputes, errors in land records, incorrect names, relinquishment deeds, joint ownership issues, title verification problems, objections to land valuation, issues related to records of deceased account holders and pending court or quasi-judicial proceedings.Dudi said judicial and quasi-judicial proceedings often involve multiple levels of scrutiny, resulting in delays in compensation. The special drive would ensure that eligible farmers receive their dues without unnecessary hardship.
