B Sai Sudharsan, Sai Kishore, Washington Sundar, and all other major names were unsurprisingly retained by their respective franchises ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) season.
Sai Sudharsan plies his trade for the Lyca Kovai Kings along with Shahrukh Khan, while Sai Kishore and Washington Sundar represent the Idream Tiruppur Tamizhans and the Trichy Grand Cholas respectively.
Elsewhere, Ravichandran Ashwin, who retired from all forms of cricket in 2025, was released by Dindigul Dragons and Vijay Shankar, who also announced his retirement a few weeks ago, was released by Chepauk Super Gillies.
A total of 56 players were released by the eight franchises ahead of the new season, with perhaps the biggest name being Baba Aparajith who was let go by Chepauk Super Gillies.
The player auction for the new season will take place on July 3 and players have until June 25 to register their names for the same.
