Hazaribag: The Hazaribag administration on Friday launched an 80-day vocational training programme in poultry farming and tailoring for 60 surrendered Maoist inmates, including women, lodged at the open jail.Deputy commissioner Hemant Sati inaugurated the programme, which will be conducted by Jan Shikshan Sansthan under state govt’s surrender and rehabilitation policy.Sati said the initiative aimed to help former extremists become responsible, self-reliant citizens and secure dignified livelihoods. The inmates will receive practical and technical training to prepare them for self-employment after completing the course.Successful trainees will be awarded certificates by the district administration and linked to the Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme for loans to launch ventures. Officials said poultry farming and tailoring were chosen as they require modest investment and support individual or group enterprises.Inmates welcomed the initiative, saying it would aid their reintegration into mainstream society.
